This month is a great one for new releases, even some we have been waiting on for years. Of all of these there are three that I am most excited for. In this blog I will share those games and my excitement for them as well as my views on the games at the moment. I will not go into all planned games, but do point to who does. I cannot wait to try these and am wondering if you are curious as well. After all this time, Stellar Blade is nearing the release date. This is the biggest one this month for a lot of people, it will be available from april 26th, but you can already play the demo.
April 2024 game releases
The april releases are way more then the three I will mention. I do not know all of the games that are planned for release but am curious for a few of them and will check up later on how they are doing. Gamespot has an article about the planned games for this month as well as a clear schedule.
My top 3
Listed below are the three april releases I am looking forward to the most. Some honorable mentions I might try include Minishoot adventures, children of the sun and Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles arcade: Wrath of the mutants.

Stellar Blade
This april release will be Playstation 5 only. The release is on april 26th but you can play the demo of this game already to figure out if it is for you. It is not long but does give an excellent idea of the feel and overall theme of the game. I loved the design and looks of monsters. Fighting does not feel like repetitive or mindless button mashing and exploring can be rewarding. The music and sounds effects were really good. The game isn’t cheap but I think it will be worth it for me. The demo took me about 40 minutes. Normal mode is pretty hard and the game kept me interested and excited. I cannot do the last boss in normal mode, maybe in the future. I am looking forward to finding out what the full game will bring. It seems that ‘come for the booty, stay for the gameplay’ is also applicable on this game.
Developers have been working on this game for quite a while and some of us have waited long for this release. They started working on it in 2019, back then it was called Project Eve. Eve is still the name of the main protagonist. Stellar blade is an action-adventure game, played from a third-person perspective. Combat focuses on attack patterns of enemies, blocking and right timing. It is daring and hard, sometimes unforgiving. Also beautiful to look at.
Sea of thieves to PS5
Weigh anchor and set out to plunder lost treasures, navigate intense sea battles, vanquish sea monsters, explore sunken kingdoms, raid forts and much more. Sea of Thieves is set in a world rich with stories, quests and eccentric characters. You’re free to use any tool at your disposal to live the pirate life however you see fit. Each season brings new game features and rewards, including free content. Take advantage of cross-platform play to enjoy life on the ocean waves with as many friends as possible.
Pc and Xbox
The april release for Sea of thieves is about the game coming to playstation 5. However, it was already available on PC and Xbox, with great crossover play. I have played quite a while via xbox and some via steam as well and really enjoy sea of thieves. It is a great game to play with a few friends, explore, unlock new things, have combat and more. I did enjoy playing alone less then together. It is possible and can still be fun, but to man a ship is not as fun alone. Especially hard when encountering others.
Sea of thieves has a lot of customization options as well for your character, ship and pet. The gameplay and missions feel unique and different to other games. I have always found the feeling of this game adventurous and refreshing. Small things like making music on the way are really the things making the game for me.
Braid Anniversary edition
Braid first released 15 years ago already! This indie platformer gained popularity fast and is still a well known title. To celebrate and bring this game back to live for a second round, there will be an updated version. This april release can be expected on april 30th.

- The option to switch between the updated and original versions at will

I have played the original blade for a while and really enjoyed solving the puzzles and seeing the games art and different worlds, areas. Indie games have been my favorites for a long time in the past. The idea of dream and underlying ideas can be really interesting.
